MENTAL HEALTH - BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CHAPLAIN

The Mental Health & Behavioral Health Chaplain® (MHBHCh) curriculum requires the completion of 400 hours (100 hours of education/300 hours of supervised experience) of advanced clinical pastoral education and training in order to receive the designation. All participants must pass the CPE Advanced Specialty Comprehensive Exam (CASCE) in order to successfully complete the training and receive designation. The MHBHCh training establishes the National Mental & Behavioral Health Chaplaincy Curriculum (NMBHCC), which explores the following:

3.   Introduction to Neurotheology

4.   Developmental & Abnormal Psyche

5.   Behavior Disorders

6.   Evidence-based Practices

7.   Individual & Group Counseling

8.   Spiritual Assessments

9.   SUDs

10. Crisis and Trauma

11. Principles of Change and Recovery

12. Ethics, Advocacy & Professional Responsibilities
