DIPLOMATE REQUIREMENTS

Diplomate of Traumatology certification

CCC Diplomates are subject matter experts and have achieved the mastery level of skills acquisition through experience, education and training, consultation, supervision, and research. CCC Diplomates are leaders within their professions through the ongoing participation in public education and health literacy. Upon successful completion of the Diplomate Program, professionals will receive the designation: Diplomate of Salutogenesis™ or Diplomate of Traumatology™. 

Diplomate Program Overview

The purpose of the Diplomate Program is to offer healthcare experts and specialists the opportunity to measurably and meaningfully demonstrate their educational and clinical experience toward mastery of the evidence-based theories and practices toward health and wellness prevention, intervention, and maintenance. The intent of this program is to empower the diplomate to practice, and to promote, healthiness through self-care and community care.

The essential features of the Diplomate program involves a comprehensive examination, a peer review interview, and demonstration of mastery of the subject matter. 

Diplomate Program Requirements

1. Assessment and Application of Knowledge-Base

  • Completing the comprehensive examination, and peer review

 

2. Effective Writing & Contribution to Research

  • Create an original research paper on a major feature of the craft with 25 peer-reviewed reference sources and utilizing the most current APA version

  • Present the peer-reviewed paper for acceptance for publication by a relevant peer-reviewed journal

 

3. Contribution to Training

  • Create and film a 1-hour class on content that you have learned and perfected as a subject matter expert. Concentrate on the philosophy, art, or science of the craft. Diplomates are leaders in the profession. This opportunity is designed to capture and showcase your role as an educator and present your original ideas or areas of expertise. Consider the niche you practice in or a particular component of your practice approach that could be helpful for other providers and researchers to learn or become aware of. This can be a technique, client education, practice management, or philosophical in nature.

 

       â€‹Guidelines for Course Development:

  • Syllabus - Submit syllabus for approval prior to creating the presentation and PowerPoint

  • Powerpoint presentation - Submit PowerPoint prior to filming the presentation for approval

  • Recording of the presentation - Zoom works well for creating a recording of the presentation while capturing both the presenter and the Powerpoint on screen.

4. Public Education

  • ​Submission of a video recorded healthcare class created and presented by you on a craft-specific topic to a live audience of providers (10 participants at a minimum).

5. Clinical Practice

  • ​Submission of 5 written reports of case studies involving real clients that showcases your helping skills from screening to discharge, or referral. Special focus should be given to screening, assessment, care planning, intervention, and care management.

Maintenance of Diplomate Status

Maintain Credentials​

  • Maintain your professional licensure and certifications in good standing

  • Maintain current professional liability insurance

  • Maintain membership in reputable trade associations

  • Maintain proper professional ethics

Continuing Education

  • Complete 20 hours of craft-specific continuing education each year. This can include teaching approved courses and writing for publication.

  • 4 hours of CPR/First Aid Certification. Find the local Red Cross or American Heart Association. Acquire CPR and First Aid certification and send in a copy of the certification at the time of renewal.

How to Register

 

Applicants may apply to the Diplomate program at any time. Applications will be approved for the Diplomate of Salutogenesis™ during January, April, July, and October of each year. Applications for the Diplomate of Traumatology™ will be approved during March, June, September, and December. In order to apply, there is an application fee and a requirement to submit the proposed research paper abstract. CCC will reach out if the application is approved, and the application fee will then be applied to the total cost of certification.​
