COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER -
PREVENTION & HARM REDUCTION SPECIALIST

Community Health Workers (CHWs) are health educators, health coaches, health advocates, prevention specialists, and health care service providers. The Community Health Worker - Prevention & Harm Reduction Specialist™ (CHW - PHRS™) is an advanced designation and requires 200 hours (75 hours of education/125 hours in supervised experience) of training. The CHW-PHRS™ explores the theories and fundamentals within the knowledge-base of both the prevention and the harm reduction national training modules.
