The Community Health Worker Peer Recovery - Peer Support® (CHW-Peer®) advanced curriculum requires the completion of 200 hours (75 hours of education/125 hours of supervised experience) of training. Peer services are considered a specialty of community health. This CHW-PRPS® dual designation curriculum will explore the essential CHW competencies with 10 hours covering the relevant KSAs in each of the 3 common peer domains, 4 hours in the harm reduction domain, and 16 hours in the peer ethics domain. The CHW-PRPS® curriculum will cover the Innovation in Behavioral Health model established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and is designed for practitioner-competent level healthcare workers.
