NATIONAL HEALTHCARE CHAPLAIN

The Certified National Healthcare Chaplain™ (CNHCh) curriculum requires the completion of 400 hours (100 hours of education/300 hours of supervised experience) of advanced clinical pastoral education & training in order to receive the designation. The CNHCh training establishes the National Healthcare Chaplaincy Curriculum (NHCC), which explores the following:

2. Fundamentals of Salutogenesis and Iatrogenesis
3. Understanding Healthcare Systems
4. Individual & Group Counseling
5. Spiritual Screening, History, Assessments
6. Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Teamwork
7. Compassion Fatigue and Moral Injury
8. Family Systems
9. Theodicy & Thanatology
10. Communication and Documentation Skills
11. Crisis Intervention and Trauma Resolution
12. Ethics, Advocacy & Professional Responsibilities
