FIRE, FIRST RESPONSE, EMS & EMERGENCY DISPATCH
CHAPLAIN

The Fire, First Response, EMS, & Emergency Dispatch® (FFREED) chaplain designation, or F-FR-EMS-ED curriculum, requires the successful completion of 400 hours (100 hours of education/300 hours of supervised experience) of advanced clinical pastoral education and training in order to receive the designation. All participants must pass the CPE Advanced Specialty Comprehensive Exam (CASCE) in order to successfully complete the training and receive designation. The FFREMSED training establishes the National Emergency Services Chaplain Curriculum (NESCC), which explores the following:

2. Fundamentals of Community Health

3. Salutogenesis and Iatrogenesis

4. Individual and Group Counseling

5. Spiritual Assessments

6. Fire Chaplains

7. Emergency Services Chaplaincy

8. Rescue and First Response Chaplains

9. FEMA Fundamentals

10. Compassion Fatigue and Moral Injury

11. Crisis Intervention & Trauma Resolution

12. Ethics, Advocacy & Professional Responsibilities

This FFREMSED training is designed for spiritual care professionals serving in fire departments and academies, emergency medical and dispatch, and rescue and first response organizations.
