The Spiritual Care Supervisor - Educator (SCSE) curriculum requires the completion of 400 hours (100 hours of education/300 hours of supervised experience) of advanced clinical pastoral education and training (specialty/level 3) in order to receive the designation. All participants must pass a peer review, and the CPE Advanced Specialty Comprehensive Exam (CASCE) in order to successfully complete the training and receive designation. The SCSE advanced specialty CPE curriculum establishes the National Curriculum in Spiritual Care Supervision, Education, and Training (SCSET).

1. Fundamentals of Salutogenic Health and Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual Care
2. Theories and Practices of Supervision
3. Basics of Epistemology and Neurotheology
4. Educational Psychology and Counseling
5. Andragogy, Peeragogy, Heutagogy
6. Curriculum and Instruction Design
7. Assessment and Competency Determination
8. CPE: Action-Reflection-Action
9. Individual/Group Counseling & Spiritual Assessments
10. Management & Leadership
11. Ethics and Professional Standards
12. KSA Demonstration and Teach-back
The SCSE has demonstrated mastery as a professional expert, supervisor, educator, consultant, and researcher in spiritual care competencies and proficiencies (such as BCCI-29, etc.). The SCSE is the highest advanced designation and terminal certification for spiritual care providers. The SCSE is the Diplomate of the Spiritual Care trade.
