PSYR ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS
Nationally approved psychiatric rehabilitation training includes evidence based theories and practices in life skills training, treatment modalities, direct care, interventions, medications, supported housing and education, and vocational rehabilitation - at a minimum.

45 CEUs
The Community & Clinical Care Behavioral Health - Psychosocial Rehabilitation (BH-PSR) designation requires candidates: (1) to be over eighteen (18) years old, and (2) hold a high school diploma or GED, or higher, and (3) have two thousand (2000) hours of verified experience in a psychiatric rehabilitation/recovery-oriented environment serving individuals with serious and/or persistent mental illness. After enrollment, candidates must complete 45 hours of training with supervision, including the comprehensive examination, in order to receive the designation.


60 CEUs
The Mental Health - Psychiatric Rehabilitation (MH-PSYR) advanced designation requires candidates: (1) to hold the PRA CPRP, the BH-PSR, or a certified peer certification given by the IC&RC, NAADAC, or state government, and (2) have three thousand (3000) hours of verified experience serving individuals in mental health, behavioral health, SUD, co-occurring, recovery, and forensic environments. After enrollment, candidates must complete 60 hours of training with supervision, including the comprehensive examination, in order to receive the designation.

The Community Health Worker - Psychiatric Rehabilitation (CHW-PSYR) advanced designation requires candidates: (1) to hold the PRA CPRP, the BH-PSR, the MH-PSYR, a certified peer credential given by the IC&RC, NAADAC, or state government, or, a certified CHW credential given by a state government, and (2) have three thousand (3000) hours of verified experience serving individuals in community health, mental health, behavioral health, SUD, co-occurring, recovery, and forensic environments. After enrollment, candidates must complete 75 hours of training with the additional hours of supervision, including the comprehensive examination, in order to receive the designation.

The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Supervisor (PSYR-S) advanced designation requires candidates: (1) to hold the PRA CPRP, the BH-PSR, the MH-PSYR, the CHW-PSYR, and (2) the CHW Supervisor Educator, a certified peer supervisor/trainer credential given by a state government, or, a certified CHW supervisor/trainer credential given by a state government, and (3) have four thousand (4000) hours of verified experience serving individuals in community health, mental health, behavioral health, SUD, co-occurring, recovery, and forensic environments, and (4) have two thousand (2000) hours of verified experience as a supervisor or trainer in community health, mental health, behavioral health, SUD, co-occurring, recovery, and forensic environments. After enrollment, candidates must complete 90 hours of training with supervision, including the comprehensive examination, in order to receive the designation.
